Burning Igloo

by Saul Stokes

Burning Igloo is my first solo demo tape. It was recording in Spokane Washington during the summer of 1995.

This album has been directly transferred from DAT tape with no modern processing. Over the years some clicks have appeared. I have removed major ones. If you find a noticeable click worth removing email me and I will edit it.

I did not separate individual tracks to keep the song order intact.

Looking back as a father, I would have never named a song Placenta. But that's what you do when your young and desperately trying to come up with track titles...

Haight Pacifica originally appeared on the demo cd of Future Music's December 1995 issue.

Interesting facts: Recording direct to Sony dat through a BBE Sonic Maximizer and early rack compressor. Due to limited budget, these recording items were purchased from Musicians Friend and then returned.

I purchased a used and very strange digital delay. It was from Deltalab and called the AcoustiComputer. Look it up. I wish I kept it. I used this extensively on Burning Igloo.

Partial home made synthesizers using mostly Electronotes schematics.

Ensonic EPS

Roland SH-09

Circle 16 round sequencer. This layout is now found on commercial sequencers.

released August 5, 1995

If you've stumbled across this album, I recommend you listen to some of my newer music first then work your way back to Burning Igloo.
